ABOUT US
Kollam Jilla Pravasi Samajam (KJPS) is a socio-cultural organization registered with Embassy of India, Kuwait (No: INDEMB/KWT/ASSN/167). We are a cultural organization having no political, religious, caste inclinations and working for the development of the society as a whole and well-being of its members/compatriots in particular. KJPS had a humble beginning in the year 2006. It was an idea spurted out from the minds of few common friends about the need for a common platform to come together for the people who are hailing from the Kollam District and living in Kuwait.
The first meeting was convened on 23-11-2006 to deliberate this idea and KJPS was officially constituted in Kuwait on 15-12-2006. It is one of the oldest organizations in its kind; representing the people from Kollam district of Kerala; living in Kuwait.
The aim of this organization is to instill in the minds of progeny a sense of oneness, promote their talents, to serve as a purveyor of art, culture and tradition, social development of the community in Kuwait, extent humanitarian aids, support for those who are distress, legal aid, promote and honor Pravasee excellence & academic brilliants and to support the Indian Embassy in their entire noble causes.
Our intention is to instill in the minds of the young and future generations, a sense of oneness and social integration, in order to bring them under one social umbrella and guide them to live in cultural amity with one another.
Started with a few members, from its silent beginning, KJPS has now grown into an organization having 10 units and more than 600 registered members in Kuwait.
Executive Committee
The activates of KJPS are lead and controlled by an elected Executive Committee, comprising of Patrons, President, Gen. secretary, Treasurer, other office bearers & committee members.
